2.- THE 3D PRINTER

The second element we are going to describe is the 3D printer. It is essentially a Cartesian industrial robot, in which the clamp has been replaced by a simplified extruder.
Any 3D body is considered the stacking of the outline. An outline is a line that can be drawn as a sequence of points.

1. The structure. The structure is made up of a series of links that allow you to move to any point in space, touring a lengthwise, crosswise and vertical distance. This system had a terminal element an extruder that plastic material pulls and at the same time that heats it moves it into a nozzle why comes out in semipastoso State. The thickness of the nozzle is usually 0.4.

2. The system of mechanisms responsible for transmitting motion to the robotic arm
3. Control systems. The control system consists of an ARDUINO controller card. With a series of inputs supplied by different temperature sensors and the SD card with the design file. The output of this card are the engines making using pulleys, gears and belts move the extruder to the point where set the material in semipastoso State.

A 3D printer, constra mainly of the elements that you can see on the picture, most feeding system which is a coil of material that is in the back. Essentially there are 3 systems

1 part printing system. Configured by the extruder and the robotic arm
2. the system of reception of the piece also known as hot bed.
3. the formed control system by
3 LCD screen which shows a menu with different options
4. a series of buttons which include a dial. The rotation allows us to move by the different categories of the menu and pressing selects one of them.
5. slot for insertion of the SD card with the GCODE file.

When you want to print a piece, it begins by turn on the printer and insert the extruder in the start position. We opened the showcase, take the glass bed and adds a bit of lacquer, to improve the adhesion of the piece. After the dial selects the SD card and it becomes to select the part that you want to print. The printer starts heating up the bed and the extruder. The process is automatic. When the piece is finished it is withdrawn.

Plastic feed can also be done in a powdery state: in such cases the layers are compacted.

ACTIVITIES

1. Create a flow chart which shows all the necessary steps in one piece 3D printing.

2. Take photos of the 3D printer in which explain the different parts of the same and its function.

3 Record a 3D printing process
